G3-PLC Alliance Announces Certified Platforms for Worldwide Frequency Bands.
April 30th, 2015, Paris, France – Marc Boillot, Chairman of the G3-PLC Alliance: “After announcing the first certified platforms in November last year for CENELEC A and ARIB, we are very proud to announce we now also have certified the first seven platforms for FCC! This means G3-PLC now covers worldwide frequency bands which is an important milestone in the development of our global standard. I want to congratulate Renesas, Maxim and Semtech with their FCC certifications and thank our test laboratories for their support! The G3-PLC Alliance has now certified over 30 platforms and products. More chipsets and platforms from these and other vendors will follow soon for ARIB, Cenelec A and for FCC.”
The certification process is available for all current and future members of the G3-PLC Alliance. Certification covers chipsets and a wide range of G3-PLC products including Meters, Data Concentrators and Home Energy Management Systems manufactured by the members of the G3-PLC Alliance.
The G3-PLC Certification Program covers conformance, performance and interoperability testing. Products that have been awarded with the G3-PLC Certificate are conforming to the G3-PLC specifications, fulfilling defined performance requirements and are interoperable with other G3-PLC certified devices. An overview of all certified products can be found on the G3-PLC website: http://g3-plc.com/content/g3-plc-certified-products
The G3-PLC Alliance has appointed two member companies to run the certifications tests, LAN and TÜV Rheinland:
- LAN is a French based company located in Tauxigny, France. LAN will perform the certification tests in their facilities located in Europe (Tauxigny, France).
- TÜV Rheinland is a German company with worldwide offices. TÜV Rheinland will perform the certification tests in their facilities in Asia (Yokohama, Japan).
G3-PLC is a protocol for Narrow Band Low frequency Power Line communications. G3-PLC facilitates high-speed, highly-reliable, long-range communication over the existing powerline grid. With the ability to cross transformers, infrastructure costs are reduced and with its support of IPv6, G3-PLC will support powerline communications into the future.
